30 million could share in forex payout

30 million could share in forex payout

Dec. 7, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) --

NEW YORK (AP) - Some 30 million people across the nation are receiving notices that they may be eligible for $25 or more from the settlement of a class action suit over foreign currency conversions on credit and debit cards.

The case alleged that card companies overcharged when converting foreign transactions into dollars and didn't disclose all fees. It looked at currency conversion fees -- often up to 3 percent of the transaction value -- on credit card and debit card as well as cards used to tap automated teller machines.

People who held cards that were branded by Visa, MasterCard or Diners Club and issued by major American banks, including JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM PRH) (NYSE:JPM PRX) (NYSE:JPM PRK) (NYSE:JPM PRJ) (NYSE:JPT) (NYSE:JPM) and Co. or Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) , are part of the class.

A $336 million settlement in the case, which had been brought in 2001, was announced in July 2006 and affirmed by a court in November 2006.

The defendants denied any wrongdoing, but said they settled to avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.

Ruthanne Gordon, an attorney with Berger & Montague PC, a Philadelphia law firm that handled the case, said she expects millions of people to respond to the mailing.

Lawyer David Langer said that the firm has created a Web site at http://www.ccfsettlement.comwith details of who is eligible for a payment and how to file a claim. There also is a toll-free number of 800-945-9890, but he warned that it has been experiencing a 'huge volume' of calls.

Consumers will have three refund options to choose from, Gordon said.

The easiest is a $25 refund, recommended for those with limited travel outside of the United States between Feb. 1, 1996, and Nov. 8, 2006. Others can seek larger refunds by providing estimates of their foreign spending, either based on typical spending or annual estimates.

The case was brought by Berger & Montague as well as the firm of Lerach, Coughlin, Stoia, Geller, Rudman & Robbins in New York; that firm has since reorganized into Coughlin, Stoia, Geller, Rudman & Robbins LLP.

A separate case against American Express Co. (NYSE:AXP) , headquartered in New York, is still pending.

Forums are great information sources in many respects, but every rose has its thorns. Anyone can post anything on a forum and for every great piece of advice, you'll find ten bad ones.

It Seems As If My Luck Has Changed.

Hello everyone! Before I begin my first review, I would like to thank you for reading and give you a little background on who I am. My name is Jeffrey Standridge. I’m 38 years old and live in a small town in North Carolina. I’m probably a lot like you, just a typical guy who loves spending time with his family, fishing, sports; I really live the American dream. I consider myself a happy, successful, guy. It wasn’t always like that for me though. There was a time when I was jobless, broke, and on the verge of divorce. You see, I was a company man. I worked hard at my textile job since I graduated high school. I clawed my way to a respectable position in the company, and things were going wonderfully; until one day...

My boss called me in and explained to me that we simply weren’t competive any more with all of our competition moving their labor overseas... it turns out my job was being outsourced and the mill was closing.

I was devastated. I had a wife that was 6 months pregnant, a mortgage and car payments. This couldn’t be happening! The mill was all I knew! I searched each day for a job to no avail. This area was a textile town. There was nothing else here and I didn’t want to try and move my pregnant wife. I’m ashamed to say I cried myself to sleep each night because of the stress and anguish I was going through. I was harshly bitter towards acts such as NAFTA and global trade in general. In my desperation I looked to make money online. I had some success on eBay, but not nearly enough to keep food on the table. I had to ask my parents and family and friends for help which was humiliating to me... Little did I know things were soon going to make a change for the better.

One day when I was talking to my friend Sam and somehow we got on the subject of day trading and stocks. The conversation stuck in my mind and I began to devour stock how to books and internet information. I always loved the day trading aspect but was always told it was much too risky. One day however I seen an advertisement for global forex trading, I took a look and became hooked. I opened a forepracticece account and failed miserably. I saw the potential in the market, looking back maybe I also seen it as I way I could get back at the global economy that I felt had shafted me. I began to try and learn but to no avail. I read stories of 15% consistent returns each month and believed it was possible but had no clue how to go about it.

One day in my search for information I stumbled upon the 5EMAs system. I read their pitch and realized it was exactly what I had been looking for. It was an information tool that used a consistent system to predict the currency markets! Maybe it was my desperate situation but I immediately had faith in the system I knew I wanted to scrape together the money and purchase it... now I had to convince my pregnant and very moody wife that it would be wise to invest our limited suppily of funds in what I called "training" for me to trade currencies.

At first she didn’t say no... Rather she said HELL NO but I prodded and begged and convinced her until she finally gave in.

I immeaately purchased the system and tore through it. Ii was love at first sight.

Not only did it give a clear concise method of conquering the markets, it covers things even experts have failed to consider. It gives the student a dynamic way of looking at the market. For god sakes it includes the Art of War in e-book format as part of the offer! It was like I had hit the jackpot! I loaned out the money to trade from my uncle and I haven’t looked back since.

I spent about 120 bucks for the system and it has paid for its self many times over. I never knew making money could be this easy and to think I was upset about losing my job! Sometimes blessings happen in disguise and I really believe that losing my job was the best thing to ever happen to me because it gave me that nudge to step out of my comfort zone and really make money. Desperation brings out the best and worst in people. When I had my job I would have never taken the risk to buy the system and really begin to make money. It was my hatred in the global market that had betrayed me and my lust for revenge that ultimately allowed me to become what I always had the potential to be.

I always joke that the 5EMAs system was the best money I have ever spent. I’ve told all of my friends and family about it, practically giving them the key to wealth and it always shocks me when they don't get rich! The system is there and it is nothing but pure laziness not to take advantage of it!

That is why I am starting this blog, to share with others my story and the best way (I know) to create wealth.

This post was really much longer than I meant it to be but I am very passionate about this subject. I encourage everyone to take a look at this system; it is everything it promises plus much much more. It dragged me from the pit of despair into prosperity and I’m very confident it can do the same for you. I can look back and say it seems as if my luck has changed.
